Brand new to smoking weed? Here’s what you need to know.

Know What to Expect

Make sure that you have an accurate understanding of what to expect when you smoke weed for the first time. Ask trusted friends to describe the experience, and read up on how different strains are likely to make you feel. Get in the Right Headspace

It’s not a good idea to try cannabis for the first time if you are feeling stressed, rushed, or unhappy. Plan your first session when you’re feeling calm and relaxed, have plenty of time, and are in a safe, comfortable space.

Smoking a Joint for Beginners

Smoking a joint is generally considered the easiest method of smoking weed for beginners. Try pre-rolls for the most convenient option, or ask an experienced friend to roll your first few joints for you.

Light your joint and slowly inhale. Hold for a few seconds before exhaling slowly. Wait a little bit between hits to see how the cannabis is affecting you – remember, it’s important to take it slow at first!

Smoking a Pipe for Beginners

Pipes are also fairly simple devices that can be good for cannabis beginners. Just remember to take small hits at first and take breaks in between.

To smoke a pipe, start by packing ground flower into the bowl. Then light it using a wick or lighter. Place your lips around the pipe’s mouthpiece and inhale slowly. Exhale, then pause for a few minutes before your next inhale.

Smoking a Bong for Beginners

Bongs are a little more complicated and can give you a more intense hit, so they are generally not the best if you have never smoked cannabis before. However, if you are fairly new to cannabis use but have already tried joints or pipes, you may want to explore using a bong. Keep in mind that bong hits can be a lot if you’re not used to them, and start very small.

To smoke a bong, first fill it with clean water. Next, tightly pack the bowl with ground flower. Place your lips on the mouthpiece while holding the bong and light the bowl with a lighter. Inhale slowly while you light the bowl. Remove the bowl from the stem and slowly inhale the smoke from the chamber. Hold for a few seconds and exhale. Take very small hits to get started, pause for a few minutes in between and check in on how you are feeling, and drink plenty of water throughout your session.
